Consequences of Female Genital Mutilation on Women’s Sexual Health – Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

AbstractBackground Female genital mutilation (FGM) can leave a lasting mark on the lives and minds of those affected. Aim To assess consequences FGM women's sexual function in women who have undergone compared to not FGM. Methods A systematic review meta-analysis were conducted from 3 databases; inclusion exclusion criterions determined. Studies included adult having presenting disorders assessed by Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Results Of 129 studies, 5 that met criteria selected. The mutilated women, based FSFI total score its different domains, was non-mutilated women.
